The institution has implemented a comprehensive and evolving Placement Training Program. The activities are meticulously designed to address the dynamic requirements of recruiters and to enhance the employability skills of students. An integrated overview of the placement training initiatives conducted for both batches, highlighting the structure, content, and outcomes of the program.
The placement journey commences with orientation sessions aimed at familiarizing students with the placement process, expectations, and available support. Students participated in an “Initial Placement Orientation and Activity on Entry Level Job Roles and Career Path”, led by the Group Director and placement coordinators, ensuring all students had a clear understanding of the placement roadmap and institutional support mechanisms.
Aptitude skills being a critical component of campus recruitment, students undergo extensive aptitude training including a series of in-person and online aptitude sessions, along with Maths For Management online assessments spread across modules, conducted by Konfidence Group. Students received a structured series of aptitude training sessions spanning from August to March, including periodic practice tests and re-tests to ensure continuous improvement and readiness1.
Recognizing the importance of a strong resume, dedicated workshops and review sessions were conducted wherein students engaged in resume review and updation activities with mentors where students received personalized feedback to enhance their professional profiles.
To prepare students for the crucial interview rounds, a series of communication refresher sessions and mock interviews were organized. Students benefited from communication refresher sessions and Versant Test orientation, particularly with reference to Deloitte & KPMG. Mock interviews were conducted intensively over several days, involving faculty, industry experts and alumni, simulating real interview environments and providing actionable feedback.
Group Discussion training was a significant focus for both batches. Students had several mock GD sessions, often linked to specific company requirements and facilitated by experienced faculty and mentors. GD training included sessions tailored to various domains such as Marketing, Operations, Analytics, Finance, and HR, as well as collaborative mock GDs with students of sister institutions, fostering peer learning and confidence building.
Students received targeted training for specific recruiters. Sessions included job description (JD) discussions, interview tips, and company-specific concept refreshers for firms like Deloitte, Colgate, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, MakeMyTrip, KPMG, and others. These sessions were led by alumni or guest faculty with domain expertise, bridging the gap between academic preparation and industry expectations.
Mentoring was integrated throughout the training, with regular sessions on self-introduction, extempore speeches, and case study discussions. These activities aimed to build confidence, improve articulation, and develop the holistic skill set required for successful placements.
The placement training activities for PGDM students are comprehensive, iterative, and tailored to evolving industry standards. By blending aptitude training, communication skill development, domain-specific preparation, and continuous mentoring, the program ensured that students were well-equipped to face the challenges of campus recruitment. The collaborative efforts of faculty, mentors, industry experts, and alumni played a pivotal role in enhancing the employability and confidence of the graduating students.
