About

Mr. Sudheer Sudhakaran is Associate Professor in Marketing Dept. He has taken his MA in English Literature from Kerala University and Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Marketing from Institute of Rural Management, Anand. He is an expert professional with 15 years experience in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Distribution Management, Administration and HR Functions. Prior to joining us, he was associated with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Limited as Regional Head for Kerala, based at Cochin.

  • PGDRM (Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management) from IRMA (Institute of Rural Management, Anand) – 1994
  • MA (English Literature) – 1987 from Kerala University

Employment History

  • Over twelve years in SCMS Cochin School of Business as Associate Professor taking regular classes in the areas of Marketing, Sales, Consumer Behaviour, Services Marketing, CRM, Store Design and in Human Resources – Competency Mapping and Organization Changes and Development with future perspectives.
  • Fifteen Years with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation – the marketers of the AMUL brand. Worked in six verticals with experiences at corporate head office, branch office and factory Mother Dairy Gandhinagar.
  • Two and a half years with Compshan Datamatics (the co-founder later started EDUCOMP).
  • Part-time assignment for WIPRO Systems Limited, Bangalore.

Industrial Experience

  • Brand Manager for six years (Amulspray, infant milk food valued over 500 crore rupees in 1994 itself along with other brands like Amulya dairy whitener, Nutramul brown beverage and other brands). Liaison with ad agencies like daCunha and FCB-Ulka.
  • Corporate HR Manager for four years at Head Office. Was the key coordinator for introducing Competency Mapping in Amul coordinating with Eicher Consultancy, Mumbai.
  • Two and half years at Mother Dairy, Gandhinagar as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) – HR handling workers and introducing new HR initiatives.
  • Successfully campaigned to improve the worker climate just after they had been on strike for over a month.
  • Initiated and conducted the first workers’ Organizational Climate Survey along with repeat OCS for supervisors and other employees.
  • Corporate office in retailing section – three member team overseeing the national roll out of Amul Preferred Outlets (APOs).
  • Over two years as Sales Head for Kerala region based at Cochin office. Distributor management, sales force management and market development. India’s first APO at a hospital was opened in Trichur.
  • Handled on-boarding training as well as ‘Marketing for Non-Marketing Employees’ in GCMMF (Amul).
  • Coordinated the zone wise Competency Appreciation Workshops at GCMMF all over India.
