Services Marketing Simulation 2026: PGDM Students Bring Restaurant Concepts to Life

SCMS Cochin School of Business organized an experiential “Services Marketing Simulation” on 22 April 2026, providing PGDM students with a hands-on opportunity to conceptualize, design, and operate simulated restaurant ventures. The event transformed the second floor of the campus into a vibrant hospitality marketplace featuring student-led brands such as Tropical Treats, The Cozy Café, Wabi Sabi, Mash & Mojo, Mitsuki, and Kappayum Kanjiyum.

As part of the simulation, students managed the complete service delivery process, including menu planning, branding, pricing, ambience creation, customer interaction, and food presentation. Each team demonstrated creativity in developing unique service concepts ranging from tropical fruit cafés and fusion Asian cuisine to comfort food and dessert experiences. Faculty members evaluated the teams on parameters such as service quality, operational efficiency, customer experience, hygiene standards, teamwork, and overall execution.

The activity provided students with practical exposure to the challenges of managing service operations in real-time environments. It also strengthened competencies in communication, coordination, problem-solving, and experiential marketing. The event reflected the institution’s commitment to outcome-based and application-oriented learning by bridging classroom concepts with industry-relevant practice. The simulation concluded with the recognition of the best-performing restaurant teams for their innovation, service excellence, and customer engagement.
