SCMS, as ever, spares no effort to keep up a track record of providing placements to all the eligible students, ever since its inception in 1992. In the academic year 2021 – 23, 50 major corporate houses have hired fresh talents from the campus.
The 2022 – 23 placement season at SCMS Cochin School of Business kicked off to a firm start and ended up with sheer exuberance, though this placement year witnessed rather a mixed bag of the selection process as few of the organizations continued with the virtual mode, however, many yearned for the on-campus selection process.
A robust trend was observed with regard to average / maximum compensation, and also the profiles offered by recruiting firms. A total of 50 companies across Manufacturing / IT / Banking / FMCG / Consulting & Analytics / Media / Energy sector / Retail / Hospitality & E-Commerce made offers to students, covering almost 90% of the eligible pool.
The average CTC based on packages offered so far is Rs.7.08 lakhs p.a. with the highest offer being Rs.13.58 lakhs p.a. Some of the leading companies out of the 50 that have recruited are Deloitte / South Indian Bank / Asian Paints / Bennet Coleman & Co. Ltd. The institute’s enterprising and progressive culture is seamlessly integrated with a variety of student engagement platforms, churning out the best talent and ensuring their fitment in the corporates. The school grooms and ensures that the students secure coveted career opportunities by presenting themselves to the recruiting companies.
Analyzing the hiring trends of the years 2022 and 2023, the Markets seem to be steady, there will be a demand for digitally talented people, and mostly it will be skill-based hiring.
Recruiters are getting proactive by establishing relationships to engage with students by offering them opportunities to showcase their talents through a number of initiatives on offer.
However, the recruiters remain very choosy with regard to the student’s commitment and expect students who seamlessly integrate with the system to perform. Last placement season too we witnessed new companies on campus for a fresh talent hunt.
