The “Learning Friendly Ernakulam District” project is a pioneering initiative aimed at equipping teachers in the Ernakulam district with the skills necessary to recognize and address learning disabilities in students. This collaborative effort, organized by the Child Care Centre, Rotary Club of Cochin, and SCMS Group, seeks to transform the educational landscape for students with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive academically.
Selected 12 PGDM students from SCMS underwent comprehensive training on learning disabilities. These students were then divided into teams and tasked with visiting various schools across Ernakulam to train teachers.
A total of 12 PGDM students, divided into teams of two, visited 13 schools across Ernakulam. These visits included both government and CBSE schools. The teams sensitized 129 teachers on recognizing and addressing learning disabilities. Provided reference materials and charts to assist teachers.
