IGNITE Faculty Development Program on Entrepreneurship and Experiential Learning

The IGNITE Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Entrepreneurship and Experiential Learning was held from August 11 to 13, 2025, at SCMS Group of Educational Institutions. The program was organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Baiju Radhakrishnan, Group Director of SCMS, who spoke about the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset in today’s economy. This was followed by a presentation by Mr. Nasif N.M., Assistant Manager-Lead -Entrepreneurship Development, KSUM, who shared the various initiatives taken by the organization to support startups in Kerala.

The sessions were led by:

  • Gopakumar Viswanathan, Entrepreneurship Educator, Wadhwani Foundation
  • Vishnupriya Vishnuprasad, Senior Consultant, Wadhwani Foundation

The main goal of the program was to improve the way entrepreneurship is taught in colleges. Over 65 faculty members from across Kerala participated and were trained in using innovative teaching methods. They also received hands-on training on the Wadhwani platform, which combines theory with interactive learning activities.

Topics covered included:

  • How to teach entrepreneurship more effectively
  • How to evaluate and support business ideas
  • How to build a startup ecosystem on campus

The program ended on August 13, 2025, with a valedictory function at 4:30 PM. Dr. Indu Nair, Group Director and Registrar of SCMS, addressed the participants and presented tokens of appreciation to the resource persons.
