IEDC stands for nurturing the creative and innovative ideas of students and help them transform these ideas into feasible products and services. IEDC acts as the first launch pad for a student’s entrepreneurial journey and provides them with access to cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure, high-quality mentorship, early risk capital and global exposure.As a cornerstone of our commitment to nurturing a culture of innovation and enterprise, the IEDC serves as a catalyst for students to transform their ideas into impactful ventures

About IEDC

At SCMS Cochin School of Business, IEDC serve as a key platform for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students. The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), acts as the nodal agency of the Kerala government for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the State and it has set up300+ innovation centers across the state of Kerala. The interventions made by KSUM in Kerala have brought about a cultural change among the youth of Kerala, as well as in how the government goes about its work. Young minds who come up with innovative solutions now have the support of various incubators and government schemes as highlighted earlier, which not only help bring in funding but also provide mentorship and expansion opportunities at different stages. This approach of the government enables startups to entrepreneurs to get ample opportunities to collaborate with the support infrastructure to develop impactful technology solutions. IEDC stands as an enabler in promoting Entrepreneurship among students by converting innovative ideas from the ideation phase to commercially viable products/ services. At SCMS Cochin School of Business, we recognize the importance of fostering an ecosystem that encourages out-of-the-box thinking and the pursuit of entrepreneurial endeavors. Idea Incubation

IEDC provides a platform for students to incubate their innovative ideas, offering mentorship, resources, and support to transform concepts into viable projects.

Programs and Initiatives

Startup Boot Camps: Intensive programs designed to accelerate the development of startup ventures by providing hands-on guidance and mentorship from industry experts.
Innovation Challenges: Periodic innovation challenges and competitions to stimulate creativity and problem-solving skills among students.
Entrepreneurship Talks: Invigorating sessions named as “Let’s Talk” featuring successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders, providing students with real-world insights and inspiration.
Incubation Support: Dedicated support for startups through mentorship, infrastructure, and access to funding networks to ensure a strong foundation for growth.

IEDC Team at SCMS

As a mechanism to ensure proper implementation and execution of IEDC, SCMS Cochin School of Business has a dedicated IEDC team under the mentorship of KSUM to coordinate on the various IEDC programs/ initiatives.
Apart from the KSUM team, there are Faculty Nodal Officers who associate in the activities of IEDC. The nodal officer are also assisted by a team of IEDC student coordinators who help in carrying out the various activities pertaining to IEDC.
