PGDM Batch 22 (2013-2015) Regional Manager Operations Wacoal India Pvt. Ltd

My alma mater has been an integral part of shaping me become the person I am. We always had immense support from faculty members; especially the mentor system helped us a lot in facing the hectic curriculum.

Currently, I handle operations for South and East for a Japanese retail brand called Wacoal in India.

I began working in retail with Hidesign through a campus placement from SCMS. For two years, I managed Hidesigns Flagship store and two MBO Points in Pondicherry. Then I worked with the Bestseller (Vero Moda) Bangalore, and Reliance. I have worked in retail for close to five years, andWacoal gave me the chance to oversee their South and East operations. I’ve been with the companyfor approximately four years. In a few years, I aspire to handle national-level operations for a retail brand.

My takeaway from the two years I spent in SCMS Cochin is an amazing set of friends, mentors I admire dearly, and a great deal of learning which helped me in establishing a successful career. Corporate life is tough and has a lot of challenges. In PGDM, we have a very fast-paced and time-bound learning experience, which helps us adapt better to a challenging work environment that requires one to go the extra mile. The course also shuffles classes every term, which takes us out of our comfort zone and had a lot of group activities, which help in adapting and working with different teams efficiently. Hostel life in SCMS has been one of the best experiences of my life. When I look back that is what I miss the most.
